Drop Spot Cross Country New York to Melrose – Part 2

DSC01250 3

New York artists Col, Ski and 2ESAE recently visited this regular hot spot located on the corner of Melrose and Spaulding and the adjacent garage bordering the alley north of Spaulding. The trio was introduced to the spot by their friend and LA local street artist, Free Humanity. Together the four artists blew up the scene by touching on  nearly every inch and covering over remnants of any older art priorly placed. From the rooftops looking over Melrose down to the sidewalk, and around to the alley, the building[s] is decorated in bright and flashy script. The contrast between this group’s traditional, yet refined style of graffiti to the usual paste-ups and stickers that normally layer the spot reminds the LA scene how New Yorkers get down.

This post displays shots of views from Spaulding. To see Col, Ski and 2ESEA’s art continue around to Melrose, check out the first part of this post found here.

LA local and street art favorite Free Humanity recently showed his friends and New Yorkers Ski, 2ESAE and Col to a Melrose hotspot in West Hollywood. While hosting these three out-of-towners, Free wanted to introduce them into the LA street art scene. So, when he brought them to this spot he had  his contributions to add to the group’s overall collaborative scheme, but Free also took a step back to let his friends shine in a city that isn’t their own. However, as for the surroundings that Ski, Col and 2ESAE weren’t touching, Free made his mark and hit up 4 different utility boxes in the area.  Check out the photos of his contributions to the murals and of the utility boxes below.

To see detailed photos of SKi, Col, 2ESAE and Free Humanity’s murals check here for Part 1 with the views from Melrose, and here for Part 2 down Spaulding and in the alley.

Free Humanity visited this utility box on Melrose just east of Ogden last week as well. To check out the post with photos click here. The photos below are of the current paste-up.
