THEFL has been busy popping up all over the Melrose area. This time he visited the storefront that Snyder and Gregory had touched up before. Last week he gave us an image of two characters standing back to back, sort of guarding, yet lounging around three pyramids. However, as a few days went by, the artist grew unsatisfied with this rendition. So, yesterday morning he revisited the spot, this time taking into consideration his surroundings, and to pay homage in a respectful yet unique manor to the other artists that had already made their stroke on the same canvas. The new THEFL character is clearly reaching upward in a similar way to Snyder’s “Rocket Pop Boy,” while at the same time perhaps also paying a bit of tribute to The Forest Lawn’s own work by using stencils from his previous pieces.
We liked the first one, but we love the second.
