New York artists Col, Ski and 2ESAE recently visited this regular hot spot located on the corner of Melrose and Spaulding and the adjacent garage bordering the alley north of Spaulding. The trio was introduced to the spot by their friend and LA local street artist, Free Humanity. Together the four artists blew up the scene by touching on nearly every inch and covering over remnants of any older art priorly placed. From the rooftops looking over Melrose down to the sidewalk, and around to the alley, the building[s] is decorated in bright and flashy script. The contrast between this group’s traditional, yet refined style of graffiti to the usual paste-ups and stickers that normally layer the spot reminds the LA scene how New Yorkers get down.
This post displays shots of views from Spaulding. To see Col, Ski and 2ESEA’s art continue around to Melrose, check out the first part of this post found here.
